The benefits you get from some of them are exquisite. The storyline is amazingly detailed, with several key events going on, and many sub-plots to follow.
The graphics are pretty good for the era, and the interaction between the characters is sometimes hilarious.Īll in all a good game and I would dare say any fan of action RPGs is likely to enjoy this. The game is quite easy to pick up and get used to, but much more thought and planning can go into battles than in the earlier games, because of all the new features. The gameplay is good but can be a bit grindy. The story starts off slow, but once things get moving it all starts to happen pretty quick. If you couldn't tell, I'm trying not to spoil things for everyone who reads this. It turns out this other NPC has a deep involvement with the story line, and you can actually swap to play this other character instead of the original you start with. It starts off innocuous enough, but if you're perceptive you'll notice there's an NPC that seems a bit suspicious. Much to my surprise (and eventual delight,) it turned out to be some crazy form of hack & slash RPG reminiscent of Diablo. I first played this many years ago now on the PS2, and at the time I was expecting to be getting my hands on a tactical RPG like it's Sega Genesis predecessors.
